The Run for the Fallen, a national event recognizing fallen service members, is passing through Marion County today.

Runners begin the day in Winterset before running to Pleasantville, stopping every mile to honor a different fallen service member that has passed away since the USS Cole incident in 2000. After reaching Pleasantville, the runners will be driven over to Knoxville for a banquet at the Knoxville VFW this evening and staying the night at the armory, before traveling back to Pleasantville to resume their run.
