While Families First in Pella is in between their spring and autumn parenting classes, the organization is focusing on encouraging literacy activities over the summer.
Executive Director Allison Kerndt tells KNIA/KRLS News the group is working with Second Reformed Church and their summer lunch program to provide activities for kids participating in the free meal program.
Kerndt says they participate in the Early Literacy Mentoring Association, which is geared toward educating parents about the importance of early literacy. Contact Families First of Pella for more information about the programs they offer to parents and children.
