Pitching was on display for the Pleasantville summer teams last night, as both squads blew by Central Decatur in shutout wins.
The softball team took advantage of a four run fourth to blank the Cardinals 4-0. Andie Sowers did some damage finishing 2-for-4 including a triple and knocked in a pair of runs. Josie Sowers and Amber McKinney each knocked in the other tallies. Abby DeJoode was dealing in the circle pitching a complete game three hitter and eight strikeouts. Pleasantville improves to 19-10 and host Interstate 35 tomorrow.
The baseball team bounced back from a loss on Monday, to down the Cardinals 5-0. The Trojans pushed across a pair of runs in the first and tacked on one in the fifth, sixth, and seventh for the comfortable win. Gauge Van Haalen and Quintin Berglund each had two hits and one RBI to lead the team. Kyle Amendt continued his dominance tossing six shutout innings on six hits and nine strikeouts. Devon Dursky closed things out in the seventh with a scoreless frame. The Trojans improve to 18-9 and host Chariton tonight.
