A group of students from Pella High School attended the International Thespian Festival in June.
Speech and Drama Director Suzi Jones tells KNIA/KRLS News the Pella Theater program is one of the longest recognized groups in the history of the annual event, and each year, they send student theater participants to experience the festival highlighting the arts on a global scale.
“The International Thespian Society is an honor society for students of theater and it’s in high schools all over the country and really all over the world,” Jones says. “It started in 1929, and here in Pella, we became a troupe in 1949.”
