The City of Pleasantville has received numerous grants as a part of their project to grow the city.
The Iowa DNR recently provided funds to improve the parking lot at the city ball fields, the Marion County Board of Supervisors contributed $250,000 to the Jasper St. Project, and the state provided a Community Development Block Grant to provide an upgrade to the sewer system and prevent flooding.
Pleasantville City Administrator Joe Mrstik tells KNIA/KRLS News the number of grants received means people are noticing the town and the potential for growth in the area, and that there are others who agree with residents of Pleasantville that the town is a great place to live. Mrstik also said that there are many projects currently going on in Pleasantville and a lot of people working very hard so he hopes that the hard work receives the recognition it deserves.
