A Warren County man was sentenced to an eight year suspended sentence Thursday after agreeing to a plea deal on drug charges and an OWI.
Michael Dow Parker, 47, was arrested in early May after a traffic stop, and charged with possession of methamphetamine, an OWI, and failure to affix a drug tax stamp. The OWI was Parker’s second, which carries a sentence of two years, and the possession of methamphetamine third offense, which carries a sentence of five years, plus another year for a probation violation to be run consecutively. Parker told the court that he is eager to address his substance abuse issues and ready to move on from past mistakes. Parker ultimately received the eight year suspended sentence, five years of probation, completion of a substance abuse evaluation, and court costs.
