The Marion County Development Commission, in partnership with the Pella Area Community Economic Alliance and other county agencies, is in the process of conducting a child care needs assessment for the region.
Executive Director Carla Eysink tells KNIA/KRLS News as communities in Marion County add additional housing developments with the aim of growing population, the need for quality child care will increase as well. Eysink says the study will gather input from current day care facilities and their ability to handle the growth, as well as identifying where the growing need can be addressed.
The child care needs assessment is a follow up to a housing needs assessment completed in 2015.
