Both the Central College men’s and women’s tennis teams lost well over half of their starting lineups from a season ago, leading to uncertainty surrounding the upcoming season.
Coach Ryun Ferrell joined us last night on the Central College Radio Coaches Corner on 92.1 KRLS and admitted that he has has no idea what to expect.
“I’d like to say that if we do this, we’ll get that and that will lead to this. But the thing I really expect is that we’ll need patience and we’ll need to respect the process and get to work. The overall thing that has to happen with both squads is communication. I have to tell them what is going on, and they have to in return tell me that I disagree with that and here’s why.”
Both the men and women finished third in the Iowa Conference a year ago, and Ferrell says that he hopes the program is at a point where it can contend for an upper-third finish on a year-in year-out basis.
