Postseason awards continue to come in for area baseball players and PCM’s Preston Van Wyk and Noah Henkenius were recently named to all-district teams released by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association.
There are five districts split up throughout the state and the pair represents the Central District. Van Wyk was named to the first team, as an outfielder. The junior busted onto the scene in the Heart of Iowa Conference, as he led the league in hitting with 44 knocks on the year. His .489 batting average was second in the conference and 22 stolen bases ranked third. Noah Henkenius was named to the second team as a utility player. The senior was the ace of the pitching staff and finished with a 3.58 ERA in 58 2/3 innings of work. Offensively he added a .298 batting average and knocked in 16 runs.
The duo helped the Mustangs to a 12-14 record.
