Boy Scout Troop 373 will be providing trail markers at Big Rock Park on the northwest side of Pella as part of an Eagle Scout Project.
The markers will not only provide better direction on the trails, but help emergency responders locate individuals who may be injured or lost by providing a system of colors, shapes, and numbers to identify certain spots in the park. Four-inch wood posts were painted with the details and will be placed in the park this Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m.
Volunteers who would like to help can stop by the park then or call 780-8595 for more details. The Eagle Scout project was conceived by local 373 troop scout Jacob Byers.
