The Knights of Columbus in Pella topped their fundraising goal for their 20th Annual Campaign for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities.
The group had a targer of $21,000, and this year, with current donations and pledges from August 18th through the 25th, topped $22,000 to support the special education departments at Pella and Pella Christian, Christian Opportunity Center, and the Iowa Special Olympics.
On Friday night, Pella Christian athletes collected donations at the gate of the football game versus Oskaloosa. The Pella Lady Dutch soccer team won the high school team challenge, which featured tams from Pella and Pella Christian collecting donations over the week. Members of the Knights of Columbus and athletes raised funds at the Pella Hy-Vee, Walmart, and Fareway, as well as a through a phone drive to collect donations from local businesses and organizations.
