The rigorous non-district schedule continues tonight for the Pella Christian football team when they travel to Van Meter to face the reigning class 1A state champs.
The Eagles are searching for their second impressive win on the young season, as they are coming off of a 51-33 victory over class 3A Oskaloosa in the opener. In order for the same result to take place, Pella Christian head coach Rich Kacmarynski tells KNIA/KRLS Sports they better bring their hard hats.
“Van Meter has elevated their program in the last 10 years. They are well coached and fundamentally sound in everything they do. We need to play well defensively otherwise they can exploit weaknesses and offensively we need to account for everyone in our blocking schemes.”
The Bulldogs opened the year with a 42-14 win over Earlham last week. Coverage from Van Meter High School begins on 92.1 KRLS and kniakrls.com at 6:30 p.m. with pregame and kickoff at 7 p.m.
