Charity organizations in Knoxville will be busy today, as they host a variety of fundraising events around town.
A 5K run on behalf of “Your Life Matters” will begin at 8 a.m. at Knoxville High School; this is a community event aimed at raising awareness and promoting prevention of youth suicide.
At 9 o’clock, the Knoxville Music Boosters will have a car wash at the Motor Inn; proceeds will go towards the school district’s art and music programs.
Then at 10 o’clock, “Wheels and Wings” will begin a day-long motorcycle ride in honor of Clayton Harsin; this tribute to the Marion County man killed in a hit-and-run drunk driving crash in 2014 starts off from the Knoxville Hy-Vee, with registration beginning at 8 a.m.
The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio will be on location at “Your Life Matters” and the Music Boosters car wash, playing music and making announcements.
