Two Illinois men are charged with theft after they were reportedly caught trying to wheel out over $12 hundred dollars worth of merchandise from the Knoxville Wal-Mart.
Knoxville Police say they were called to the store on Tuesday around 1:45 in the afternoon; the store’s loss prevention department says they spotted 42-year-old Robert Mason and 51-year-old James Crha, both of Mulkeytown, Illinois trying to remove two carts full of merchandise. Police say security video shows one left a cart just beyond the cash registers, and the other apparently was going to take it out of the store. Officers spotted a maroon van with no license plates driven by one of the suspects; they say he removed the plates in an attempt to keep from being identified.
Mason and Crha each face a felony count of second degree theft.
