The second annual Marion County Public Safety Night is scheduled this evening in commemoration with 9/11.
First responders from around the county will be available to interact with the public and show off their equipment. Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson tells KNIA/KRLS News if you are curious at all about what first responders do, you should come out to the event
“This is a great opportunity to come out and have a family friendly event and just interact with our first responders. You can trade information with them about volunteer hours, how the department works, or even the good or bad limitations of the budget. We can use this opportunity to just talk about the needs that we all have in the community”.
The event take place on the downtown Knoxville square from 5:30 to 8:30, with food provided by HyVee. The KNIA/KRLS Big Red Radio will be at the event playing music and making announcements.
