Park Rangers at Lake Red Rock invite the public to join the Monarch Watch volunteer effort.
Tracy Spry with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers tells KNIA/KRLS News they will attempt to tag the unique butterflies as they pass through the Red Rock area for fall migration today at 5:30 p.m. and tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the South Tailwater Recreation Area. Data from tagged butterflies may be used to help searchers track the monarchs’ journey to Mexico.

The activity is free of charge and preregistration is not needed.
