The PCM girls cross country team looked prime for another state berth, as they came out on top yesterday in Pleasantville.
The Mustangs won with 28 points, just three ahead of the second place Trojans. Megan Townley took home top honors placing first in 21:20 and teammate Klair Jungling crossed the finish line 15 seconds later to place second. Kirstin Ives also cracked the top ten in eighth while Hannah Bouwkamp was 11th. The Trojans had four runners in the top ten including Emmie Kenyon in fifth, Hailee McCormick in sixth, Mel Johnson in seventh, and Jordan Dursky in ninth.
On the boys’ side PCM finished second with 58 points while Saydel ran away with the crown with 41 points. Beau Webb bested the whole field in a time of 17:30. Jason Stafford was not far behind in third and Cody Courtney was 16th. Pleasantville finished fifth with 121 points. Devon Luing had the top Trojan finish in 11th and Jeremy Colboth was 27th.
