The annual tribute motorcycle ride in honor of a Marion County man is being held Saturday.
Registration for the third annual “Wheels and Wings” starts at 8 o’clock at the Knoxville Hy-Vee; the riding tour of Marion County begins at 10, a fundraising auction will be held at the National Guard Armory. This ride is held in memory of Clayton Harsin, who was killed by a hit-and-run drunk driver in August of 2014.
The route changes each year, and Eric Harsin tells KNIA/KRLS News this year’s tour will take riders to some of Clayton’s favorite spots.
“This year, we decided to kind of keep the event a little more about Clayton; so the entire ride’s going to be in Marion County this year. We’re going to be on a lot of the roads that he liked to ride on, towns that he spent time in growing up; just places he liked to be and roads and views that he enjoyed,” Harsin says.
Proceeds from this year’s ride will go to the Iowa Donor Network…to benefit a family which lost three members in a fire.
The cost to enter is $20 per vehicle.
