The Pella City Council chose to wait to approve a contract for Phase II of the Pella Sports Park project at their meeting Tuesday evening.

The project came in over projected bids, and the city is expected to cover up to nearly half of that cost, with Fields for our Future paying for the rest. The base bid work includes two new 210 foot baseball/softball fields, installation of a sidewalk from the main complex to the fields, extended overhang protection on all backstops, and a concrete walking and biking trail. The council also approved a preliminary plat for the Bos Landen Estates, which outlines the proposed Vintage Cooperative development and 10 single family homes south of Bos Landen Drive and Utrecht Lahn.

The document also details the requirements for the lots and needed infrastructure improvements.
