Saturday morning’s superhero breakfast buffet at the Knoxville Hy-Vee will give kids a chance to meet and eat with their favorite heroes; but not all of them will be in costume.
While there will be a few costumed heroes on hand, featuring Marshall from the Paw Patrol, the real honorees will be area first responders.
Knoxville Hy-Vee Manager Kelly Kayser tells KNIA/KRLS News the event has evolved beyond fictional heroes, because the staff has seen real ones in action.
“We started off with the whole Batman and Robin, Marvel Comics, that kind of event; and then after going downtown and being part of that first responders event…those guys are truly the heroes in our town, so we want to do something more for them,” Kayser says.
Kids are encouraged to show up in their own costumes, and the Mercy One medical helicopter is scheduled to land in the parking lot. It will run from 8 to 11 a.m.
The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio is scheduled to be on hand, playing music and relaying announcements to the crowd.
