The Pella Food Shelf reports their shelves were wiped out during their busiest time of the year, and they are hoping the community helps them restock.
Director of the Pella Community Food Shelf Melissa Zula tells KNIA/KRLS News they are partnering with Pella Motors and Ulrich Ford at Pella High School tonight and Pella Christian football teams next Friday with a special Food Truck Friday tailgate food drive at their home games.
“Both schools are going to have the Pella Motors pace truck sitting outside of their opening, and we are going to fill the truck, so if you are planning on coming to either the Pella game or the Pella Christian game, then we would like to ask you to bring a bag of groceries and help us fill the truck and help us fill our shelves, and help take care of our friends and neighbors right here in Pella,” she says.
For those who can’t donate at the games, they can do so at The Well by the east entrance or the drop-off box at the Pella Hy-Vee and Fareway.
