Area marching bands ended the 2018 competition season on a high note Saturday.
Pella, Knoxville, and PCM all earned Division I Superior Ratings at the 2018 Iowa High School Music Association State Festival.
For the Marching Dutch, it is the 43rd consecutive year they have earned the highest possible score from judges. In the evening, Pella’s band traveled to Ankeny to close the season at the Mid Iowa Band Championship, winning the Class 3A competition and earning the highest score of any of the ensembles participating, regardless of class size.
