Breast cancer survivors, their friends, and families participated in the annual Pella in Pink walk and run Saturday morning.

The community gathered at the Tulip Toren for the event sponsored by Pella Regional Health Center. Before the race started, survivors of breast cancer were recognized with flowers. Members of Pella Forte and the cheer squad helped with the festivities as well. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio was at the event for announcements and music.

Medical Imaging Supervisor Marilou Ozinga, also a breast cancer survivor, tells KNIA/KRLS News Pella Regional will next be hosting part two of the KNIA/KRLS Breast Cancer Awareness Radiothon. The event, including stories from survivors and health care professionals, will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, and can be heard live on KNIA/KRLS.
