Last year a Pella Christian senior, this year, one of the keys of success for a top-10 rated NAIA volleyball team.

Freshman Bekah Horstman has translated to the college game quite well this fall for the 19-5 Raiders volleyball team in Orange City. After older sister AJ went down with a season-ending injury, Bekah has taken on a larger role in the offense, with 118 kills in 78 sets of action this year, 64 of which have come against conference foes.

But the freshman has had her most success on defense — leading the No. 9 Raiders with 48 total blocks, including five in their most recent game–a sweep of previously No. 9 Midland over the weekend.

Horstman ended her senior campaign in 2017 as one of the all-time leaders in kills for Pella Christian, racking up 412 in her senior season with 72 blocks.
