Thursday will be a busy evening at Knoxville High School, and the Music Boosters will be taking advantage of it by hosting a fundraiser for the school choir trip to New York City.
A spaghetti dinner will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the school; this will be ideal for those coming for parent-teacher conferences, and for those staying afterwards to see the band Farewell Angelina perform at the K-PAC.
Proceeds will go towards the choir’s trip, and Jackie Duffy tells KNIA/KRLS News the students will not only get to see the sights, but learn from Broadway professionals working with the Disney production of “Aladdin.”
“And then we do a Broadway classroom, which is usually a lot of the kids’ favorites; basically, someone from the Broadway show ‘Aladdin’ comes and teaches us one of the songs that they’re going to hear…when they see the Broadway show, and the kids get to learn the choreography and they get to learn the song while they’re in a classroom with one of the actual people from the Broadway show.”
