Another night, another milestone for Pella’s Emily Holterhaus as her high school volleyball career winds down.
In 3-1 victory over Carlisle by the No. 7 Lady Dutch, Emily Holterhaus eclipsed the 500 kill mark for the season by tallying 31 in Tuesday’s contest. She is currently leading the entire state in kills per set at 5.54, 2nd with her 504 kills, regardless of class, has the 2nd best kill efficiency of players with more than 400 kills, and is virtual lock for her fourth All-State recognition from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.
Holterhaus currently stands at 1750 career kills, which is good for 7th all-time since stats became official in 2007. Pella’s senior will look to lead the Lady Dutch back to the state tournament for the fourth straight season on Monday, when they host Clear Creek Amana in the 4A Regional Finals.
