Children in Knoxville will be able to get the jump on Halloween tomorrow, as the Knoxville Optimist Club holds its “Treats in the Trunk” event.

It will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the city parking lot on South 3rd Street; organizers say treats will be kept in the trunks of vehicles parked in the lot, and handed out to kids in attendance.

This year, organizers are adding a new element; they’ve asked participants to set up children’s games, which are meant to be easy to play and fun for the kids playing them.

The Optimist Club is hoping to have around 400 children in attendance. If the turnout is strong, they may seek to have the event on the square in the future.
