The Halloween season is in full swing, and in most communities it will culminate on Tuesday evening during Beggar’s Night.
The hours for children to be out seeking treats are nearly uniform in all communities; Knoxville, Pella, Pleasantville, Monroe, Melcher-Dallas, Prairie City and Indianola are all set for 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The only major exception is Bussey; kids there will be out on Halloween night itself, Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Authorities have been cautioning parents to keep an eye on their children, especially younger ones; you should stay with them, travel in groups when possible and make sure they don’t wear costumes which obstruct their vision.
Drivers are also being reminded to watch out when they’re on the streets, and be cautious of children who may go running out onto the road without looking.
