Missing several key members of the squad, the Central College men’s soccer team lost 3-0 to Loras College in the American Rivers Conference tournament semifinal match Wednesday night.

The Dutch finish the season with a 9-9 overall record.

“Overall, I’m proud of their efforts,” coach Garry Laidlaw said. “Loras does a good job of taking advantage of their home field that they earn. Their unorthodox style gave us problems.”

In addition to missing starting goalkeeper Salvador Salado-Herrera, Central was without defenders Landon Daniels and Brant Mueller.

“In the end, we were unable to overcome so many key players in the same position being out,” Laidlaw said. “We also lost Logan Serbousek during the game.”

The Duhawks also topped the Dutch 3-0 in a regular season game on October 23.

In 2019, Central will return the players responsible for 16 of 23 goals and for six of the 15 assists.
