Pella volleyball overcame a two-set to none deficit Monday to make it to the program’s fourth consecutive state tournament.
Senior Kennady Klein says it’s been an incredible run thus far, but the main goal now is to claim the program’s first ever championship.
“It means so much, especially with this team,” she says. “We’ve been on such a long journey–we’ve had our ups and downs, and our season’s going to finish at state and we’re going to try to go all the way.”
It will be the fourth time Pella seniors Natalie Clayberg and Emily Holterhaus will play on the court at the U.S. Cellular Center, and the second in a row for Klein, Jenna Schulte, and Kalin Valster. The No. 7 Lady Dutch take on No. 2 Xavier in the quarterfinals round Tuesday at 4 p.m. The game can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS.
