This weekend, everyone is reminded to set their clocks back as Daylight Saving Time ends.
Daylight Saving Time will go back one hour from standard time with the purpose of making better use of daylight and conserving energy. Pella Fire Chief Doug Van Gorkom tells KRLS News Daylight Saving Time both in the spring and fall serves as an effective time for all residents to check safety equipment in their home, by replacing all batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, inspecting fire extinguishers, and updating old alarms when they are expired.
The time switch occurs this Sunday at 2 a.m.
