Elections are being held today for county, state, and federal races in Iowa.
Today’s race for State Representative in the 28th District will match Republican John Thorup against Democrat Ann Fields.
One seat is up for vote on the Marion County Board of Supervisors; Republican Kisha Jahner and Democrat Stanley Bingham are vying for that spot on the board.
The majority of county and township offices are uncontested; County Treasurer Michaela Bigaouette, County Recorder Karen Schwanebeck and County Attorney Ed Bull are all GOP candidates running unopposed.
Incumbent Democratic Representative Dave Loebsack is seeking re-election against Republican challenger Dr. Christopher Peters for the second district congressional seat
Republican Governor Kim Reynolds and Lt. Governor Adam Gregg are facing Democratic challengers Fred Hubbell and Rita Hart; incumbent Secretary of State Paul Pate is up against Democratic challenger Deidre DeJear; and Republican Mary Mosiman squares off against Democrat Rob Sand for State Auditor.
The State Treasurer’s race pits Republican Jeremy Davis against Democrat Michael Fitzgerald; Mike Naig from the GOP takes on Democrat Tim Gannon for Secretary of Agriculture; and current Democratic Attorney General Tom Miller’s opponent is Libertarian Party candidate Marco Battaglia.
