A combination of new and old faces will be representing Warren County government both locally, statewide, and in Washington D.C. after the election Tuesday.
Democrat Scott Ourth will be representing Iowa House District 26 after taking down Republican Rebel Snodgrass, winning with 55% of the vote. Republican Stan Gustafson will represent House District 25 after defeating Ryan Marquardt, winning 57% of the vote in Warren County and 59% of the overall district, while Kristin Sunde was defeated by a small margin in Warren County but won the overall election with 53% of the vote.
On the Senate side, Republican Julian Garrett won over Democrat Vicky Brenner, winning 54% of the votes in Warren County and 55% overall, while Democrat Claire Celse was narrowly defeated in Warren County for Senate District 21, but won the overall vote handily with a 65% margin.
Warren County also hosted a pair of Board of Supervisors elections, with Republican Crystal McIntyre winning district 2 over Democrat Don Davis with 64% of the vote, and Republican Aaron DeKock winning over Democrat Skip Phillips with 54% of the vote.
Warren County Treasurer Julie Daugherty, Recorder Polly Glascock, and Attorney Douglas Eichholz all ran unopposed and will retain their positions.
Democrat Cindy Axne will represent Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District after defeating incumbent Republican David Young. Young carried a 53% vote margin in Warren County, with Axne winning 49% of the overall vote.
