Simpson College was recently named as one of the top schools in the country that encourages students to vote by Washington Monthly.

The Washington Monthly takes into account percentage of voter registration and turnout rates and the availability of that data, action plans around civic engagement programs, and information about past voting trends. Simpson boasted a 58.3% voting rate in 2016, and a 64.5% student body voting rate in 2012. Simpson College was the only Iowa College named, and joins the ranks of Minnesota, Michigan State, and Texas among 132 colleges named nationally.
