Veterans will be treated to a free breakfast and music sung by students of Victory Christian Academy on Monday, thanks to a partnership between the Indianola Hy-Vee, Victory Christian Academy, and the Indianola Community Church.
Administrator of Victory Christian Academy Dr. Sandra Dop tells KNIA News the students learn much more than just music preparing for this event.
“I think one of the things that makes this special for veterans is that the kids learn the traditions. The singing of the patriotic songs, learning how to fold a flag and learning what that means, honoring fallen soldiers, and I think that means a lot because it shows younger children are learning to love their country.”
The breakfast will be served from 7-10am at Indianola Community Church, with the children’s performances beginning at 8:30am. For more information on the Veterans Day Breakfast and Program, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
