Marion County Humane Society’s fundraising art auction is scheduled to be held on Friday night, and it will once again feature one of the contestants from the reality show “Big Brother.”
The 2nd Annual Raise Your Paw Art Auction will be held at Dyer-Hudson Hall on the Marion County Fairgrounds; the featured auctioneer will be Jason Dent, a contestant on Season 19 of the show. He’s known for being a rodeo clown working under the name “Whistle Nut” but he’s also a partner in a professional auction house.
Leslie Vanderlinden from Marion County Humane Society tells KNIA/KRLS News the proceeds from this auction will be used to support maintenance at their shelter, and construction of a new building on their campus.
“It will go through general support, but we do have quite a few projects that we need to complete,” says Vanderlinden. “We have some cage doors that need to be changed…and just are working on a garage right now, so if we need some extra money for that then it will go towards the garage as well.”
The art pieces up for sale have been donated by various artists from around Marion County; they will be on display in downtown Knoxville on Thursday evening during Living Windows.
