If you’ve ever seen a miniature Christmas village, or enjoyed looking at a Currier and Ives Christmas card, then the Festival of Trees at the Marion County Historical Village is your opportunity to see those things come to life.

The annual festival is taking place on Saturday, November 17th and Sunday, November 18th at the village inside the Marion County Park.

Craig Agan from the Marion County Historical Society tells KNIA/KRLS News the vintage buildings on the site will be fully decorated for the holiday season, and visitors will have an opportunity to experience an old-fashioned Christmas.

“We have a lot of fun with all the beautiful buildings out there that people can come and visit during the Festival of Trees,” Agan says. “We have displays in all the buildings; the schoolhouse, the stagecoach inn, the general store, the chapel and the museum itself. We really enjoy making everything (festive) there at the Historical Village.”

Admission is free, and includes tours of the buildings, a favorite tree contest, free cookies and beverages and live entertainment.
