A proposed amendment to the Knoxville Urban Renewal Area is on the agenda for Monday night’s meeting of the Knoxville City Council.
The council will hold a public hearing on the proposal, followed by a vote on declaring the necessity of an urban renewal area, and establishing it as amended.
A plan to provide solar power to city facilities is also up for discussion; Red Lion Renewables will discuss a plan to erect a canopy in the municipal parking lot adjacent to the Knoxville fire station, which would be covered with solar panels. A similar array would be built near the wastewater treatment plant.
The City Council will also be asked to sign off on the Knoxville Area Transportation Feasibility Study; and it will consider a proposal for a new Hy-Vee gas station, in the Hy-Vee parking lot.
The meeting is scheduled to convene at 6:15 p.m. and will be heard live on AM 1320/FM 94.3/FM 95.3 KNIA.
