Knoxville Girls Basketball Fans will see the Panthers run a newer style offense this season. Last season Coach Jim Uitermarkt used a five-out style to utilize the Panthers outside shooting. This year, the Panthers will have more of a four-out with a post and running picks to get more open shots. Uitermarkt tells KRLS Sports, while the new offense will take a little time for the girls to adjust to, he knows they are play-makers on the team that will create their own offense. Katie Keitges was the team’s leading scorer last season and returns from a season where she averaged nearly 20 points per game last season. Also back is Maggie Wilkins, who as a freshman a year ago scored just over 12 points per contest. The Panthers already have had a four-quarter game on Tuesday, when they played in an Iowa Hall of Pride game against Ottumwa, which was an exhibition game. Knoxville’s season starts for real this Tuesday against PCM.
