For the second time in 2018 and for the fifth time in his career, Central College football kicker Jon Alberts was named the American Rivers Conference special teams player of the week.

After making field goal attempts from 25 yards in the second quarter and 39 yards in the third quarter, Alberts drilled an 18-yarder with two seconds remaining in the game to seal a 37-34 win for Central in the final game of the season. He also went 4-for-4 on extra point attempts. In 10 games this season, Alberts was 8-for-9 on field goals and 45-of-46 on extra points. Alberts previously won the award on October 15, 2018; October 15, 2017; September 17, 2017 and September 10, 2017. The Dutch finished the season 8-2 and finished in a tie for second place in the conference.
