When the Pleasantville boys’ basketball team hits the floor for the first time on Tuesday they will do so with a lot of new faces leading the charge.

The Trojans lost nine players to graduation from last year’s 17-6 squad. Grant Fouch is a top returner coming back for the Trojans averaging 5.7 points per game last season and shooting 35% from behind the arc. Pleasantville does add junior Brady Powers, who transferred from Sigourney and led the Savages in scoring with 11.7 points per contest. Head Coach Joel Allman tells KNIA Sports the younger players are coming along nicely and he likes the versatility the team offers.

“A lot of guys can do a lot of different things. Many guys can shoot the ball, dribble, and pass on the offensive side. Defensively we have a little further to go developmentally and that’s what we have been stressing in practice. “

The Trojans open the new season Tuesday when they travel to Melcher-Dallas. Listen to the boys/girls doubleheader on the KNIA3 Stream at kniakrls.com with Cole Cook and Tom Wilkins on the call.
