Local Girl Scout service units held a cake auction in the KNIA Studio Friday evening during the Indianola Chamber of Commerce Holiday Extravaganza, raising money to fund their service activities.
The scouts baked their own cakes with the themes of winter wonderland, holidays, hometown pride, movies, and girl scouts. Troop leader Jennifer Sedlock tells KNIA News the money raised benefits the troops in several ways.
“This will help us with our projects to do community service, crafts, camping, just about anything you can imagine that these girls love to do, this fundraiser helps us extend their capabilities that they are looking out for which fits into our philosophy of girl-led activities.”
The service units raised $640 with the cake auction.
