With the holidays approaching and friends and family being in close proximity for celebrations, Warren County Public Health wants to remind everyone that treating an incoming cold or other sickness as soon as possible can help stop the spread during the holidays.

Director Jodene DeVault tells KNIA News what to do if you notice symptoms.

“You want to increase your fluid intake right away, get some extra rest, and take some Vitamin C. If you want you can even get something from over the counter to help fight the virus, but make sure to check with your doctor especially if you are on medication for hypertension because some of those will increase blood pressure.”

DeVault also said the usual ways to prevent sickness are more important during these times, including washing your hands and coughing or sneezing into your arm.
