After an early-season snow storm blasted much of the region with anywhere from 3 to 15 inches of snow on the Thanksgiving weekend, an unusually warm December has followed.
Meteorologist Roger Vachalek with the National Weather Service tells KRLS News a weather pattern has been in place for several weeks that has driven many storms and colder air to the east, which in turn, has set up an overall warmer-than-average pattern.
Vachalek says while it might not be a record-breaking month for some, it will be an above-average 31 days for average daytime highs and overnight lows.
