A man is dead after suffering a possible stab wound in Knoxville last night, according to Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada.

At approximately 8:53 p.m. the Knoxville Police Department was called to the 100 block of S. 2nd Street on the Knoxville square for a report of a domestic assault. Officers found a 46-year-old man bleeding from a possible stab wound. They began treating him and called for paramedics to enter. He was transported to the Knoxville Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, and no information has been released regarding any arrests or suspects related to the death. The Knoxville Police Department, Knoxville Fire & Rescue Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Marion County Attorney’s Office, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are assisting with the investigation.
