For many of us, a four-day Christmas weekend is underway; several public offices and agencies will be shut down on one or both days at the beginning of the week.
The Marion County Courthouse and all county offices will close their doors on Monday and Tuesday; Knoxville City Hall is also closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
But although their business offices will be shut down, the Sheriff’s Office and the Knoxville Police Department will be active as usual along with the fire department.
The Knoxville Public Library’s temporary home at the old East Elementary School will be shut down for three days, from Sunday through Tuesday.
The post office in Knoxville will be open as always on Monday, and there will be mail delivery; but it will be closed for Christmas Day on Tuesday, and there will be no mail.
The Knoxville Rec Center will be open Christmas Eve from 5 a.m. until 3 p.m. and will be closed all day on Christmas Day.
