Authorities are continuing to investigate Friday night’s stabbing death of a man in Knoxville.
46-year-old Monte Brown died at Knoxville Hospital and Clinics around 9:30 that evening; this was shortly after Knoxville police officers were called to 124 ½ South 2nd Street for a report of a domestic disturbance.
They found the victim with a stab wound, and he was treated by Knoxville Fire Department ambulance crews before transport.
Police say one or more persons of interest have been interviewed, but no charges have been issued as of yet. The matter is being investigated by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Knoxville Police and the Marion County Attorney’s Office; results of an autopsy are pending from the Iowa State Medical Examiner. The autopsy report could take several weeks.
Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada tells KNIA/KRLS news there is no danger to the public related to this incident.
