National Weather Service Meteorologist Roger Vachalek says chances are usually even each winter for a White Christmas, which is defined as measurable snow on the ground on December 25th.

Later this week, chances increase for rain throughout parts of Iowa, but daytime temperatures are expected to stay above freezing, with moderate rainfall expected and little snow accumulation in the forecast.
