Students throughout the Pella School District gave back to their community during the holidays.
From third graders to seniors in high school, several children felt the spirit of giving. Third graders at Lincoln Elementary school combined to raise over $1,500 and collect several food items for the Pella Community Food Shelf; fourth grade students at Jefferson Intermediate School collected over 300 items as well, and the Pella boys and girls high school basketball teams combined to donate over 1,200 food items in a week-long “competition” at two home games. The Lady Dutch also worked to raise money and buy gifts for those in need through Crossroads of Pella.
The Pella Middle School student council has tackled their fair share of projects as well, including serving meals at The Well during Thanksgiving week and adopting a family for Christmas through Crossroads.
