A Pella High School alumnus who finished his school and football career at the end of this year will be recognized for his off-the-field efforts Tuesday night.

Nathan Clayberg, a 2013 Pella High graduate, is part of the Allstate Good Works football team, one of 22 players selected nationally regardless of class by the American Football Coaches Association–regardless of division. Clayberg was a starting defensive end for the 2018 Drake Bulldogs and was honored for his part in the development of the UNITE ministry, which also includes many other Pella alumni working for the group.

Clayberg was invited to participate in a special community service project in New Orleans leading up to the Allstate Sugar Bowl, and will be recognized on the field during a halftime presentation during the game that begins at 7:30 p.m. on New Year’s Day.

He was selected as an FCS Third-Team All-American for his on-the-field performance this past season at Drake as well. Hear more from Clayberg about the end of his career and his off-the-field projects on Monday’s Let’s Talk Pella.
